Helping Youth Find Stability

Youth Reaching Home (13-30) supports young people in finding and maintaining safe, stable housing while also addressing their immediate and long-term needs. Our prevention services include housing subsidies and housing start-up supports such as damage deposits, moving costs, and basic furniture. We work alongside youth to locate housing and provide ongoing support to help them maintain their tenancy.

We also provide advocacy and practical support with Service BC and the Canada Revenue Agency, including assistance with completing income tax returns. To address immediate needs related to food insecurity, we offer grocery gift cards so youth can choose food that meets their preferences and dietary needs. As a registered social worker, we support eligible youth in applying for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) benefits to improve financial stability and overall well-being.

In addition, we assist youth with applications for other essential supports, including BC Housing, Income Assistance, and the SAJE program (Ministry of Children and Family Development). These supports help youth access financial resources and housing options that contribute to long-term stability and independence.
